Klinische Beispiele zur neuroanatomischen Lokalisation und zum Verhalten pathologischer Läsionen Die Kursteile Neuropathologie und Neuroradiologie dauern je 1.5 Stunden und finden zweimal statt, so dass Sie nach einer Pause wechseln können, also Gelegenheit haben, beide Kurse zu besuchen. | 09:00-12:10 Raum Rio | MRI - Course for Neurologists Under the auspices of the Swiss Neurological and Neuroradiological Societies Organisation: E.-W. Radue, Basel, R. Wiest, Bern Part 3 of 4 Cerebral Chronic Inflammation and White Matter Pathologies The third part of the MRI training for neurologists concerns topics today’s neurologists increasingly have to face. Prof. Sahraian/Teheran, who published the MRI Atlas of MS Lesions and is an expert in MR Imaging in MS, will demonstrate the possibilities MRI provides in supporting the diagnosis of MS. The different pathohistological correlates shown in T1, T2 and FLAIR sequences as well as optimum prerequisites for follow-up examinations and detection of pitfalls will be introduced. The second topic will concern white matter diseases other than MS. The complexity of these pathologies and new methods in helping to make their diagnosis will be demonstrated by PD Dr. Wiest/Bern. PD Dr. Klingebiel/Zürich will focus on immunologic and chronic cerebral inflammatory processes including HIV and PML. The intention is to highlight the different appearance patterns of these processes on MRI compared to MS. As very well accepted in previous courses Dr. O. Bieri/Basel will give an introduction into the MR physics of arterial spin labelling and cerebral perfusion and Prof. E.-W.
